To pass the board exam, students must score at least 30 and 33 marks out of 100 in their respective subjects. Candidates must have a total of 30% marks. If students achieve the required marks, the divisions they will receive are as follows.
Bihar Board exam pattern Class 12
- The BSEB Class 12 exam pattern consists of 50% MCQs and 50% subjective questions in the theory exam.
- The BSEB Class 12 exam duration is 3 hours and 15 minutes.
- In the 100-mark exam, there are 60 MCQs out of which candidates have to attempt 50, and in the 70-mark paper, there are 42 MCQs out of which 35 have to be attempted.
- The passing marks for overall marks are 30/100 and 21/70 for the theory exam, and 12/30 for the practical exam.
The Bihar Board Class 12 exam pattern will consist of 50% objective questions (MCQs) and 50% subjective-based questions. Each exam will last 3 hours + 15 minutes. The theory exam will be either for 100 marks or combined with a practical exam for 70 marks.

According to the Bihar Board 12th Exam Pattern 2026, this year, the BSEB Patna will offer a double-mark question paper. This means that in a 100-mark paper, the BSEB will ask 200 questions, with each subject consisting of 50% subjective and 50% objective questions.
